# Identifying Automation Opportunities
You probably spend 30-40% of your work week on tasks that could be automated. Not in theory — today, with tools that exist right now, for free or nearly free. The skill is knowing which tasks to automate and which tools to use.
The REPETITIVE-RULES-RELIABLE Framework
Not every task should be automated. Use this framework to evaluate:
REPETITIVE: Do you do this task at least weekly? - Daily tasks: High automation priority - Weekly tasks: Medium priority - Monthly tasks: Automate only if they take 2+ hours
RULES-BASED: Can you describe the task as a set of if/then rules? - "When a new lead fills out the form, add them to the CRM and send a welcome email" → Automatable - "Review this contract for unusual clauses" → Not automatable (requires judgment)
